Small Yellow People

It has been awhile since a posting, so I thought I would share a small smackeral of Robbie G's adventures. This particular story has a baby, bound in yellow, holding a walking stick, traipsing through the rainy coastal hills of California. I am not sure, but I think he is a dead ringer for Edward Sanders (Winnie the Pooh).

Deep in the heart of one-hundred acre woods,
where Christopher Robbins plays...

I imagine for him, the bushes are trees and the trees are something mountain-like. Of course, mountains then get bumped up the line or perhaps at that scale, it just becomes. I used to and still do, imagine worlds of little people living in the stumps or the moss.

On a sider note, it is amazing how nice it is to release your kid into the wild and let them trounce about.

GEEZ!!!

I have to update my blog and my brother's! Someone e-mail John and tell him to post pictures of his own kid. This is a recent picture of Mr. Rex. If you want more information, you'll have to see my blog (the Ansley Blog). I'll try and set up links between the two blogs.

Updates please

Hi All,

Big sister Jolie-Anne thinks that John needs to get off of his patookus and post some more stuff to the Garvey-a-go-go site. I guess he can say something about Thanksgiving next weekend. I'll do my part but then I have to work on the related Ansley blog. Here is a recent photo of me and the kids just before Halloween on our way to drop Sylvie off at pre-school. I'd love to hear from you all - especially Kyran who is now living large in Boston.

Summer Vacation with Baby Boy

It is Sunday morning on an early August day. The family is still asleep, except for eze the cat who is doing figure eights around my legs trying to get attention. I am awake, because I had to drop off Jolie's tribe at the San Francisco International Airport. They are on their way to the Queen Charlotte Islands in British Columbia, Canada. MAP Lucky Dogs!!

But, I to did abit of vacationing. Anna, Robby, and I (sans gato) headed to the coast and enjoyed three days in and around Point Reyes. It was the baby boy's first excursion to the beach and his first time sleeping in a tent. The first two nights, we stayed in a hostel that is located in the park. It is hard to imagine a more beautiful spot. It turns out that Robby is quite the socialite. He charmed everybody in the common room, and if you ask him, will be managing the place next year. An Indian (Asia) man gave Robby a two-dollar bill for his education and for good luck. A woman from Toronto, who was traveling to visit her love interest in San Diego and had been fasting for several days, claimed he was extremely handsome.

The following night, we drove to Mt. Tamalpais and stayed in a camp ground on top of the mountain. The site was spectacular and we hiked into Muir Woods which has some of the largest remaining coastal redwoods. (Be aware that there will be a quiz on these locations and items?) One amazing aspect of this campground was the hot air that blew up? the mountain. The family and I sweated our way through a sleepless night. Fortunately, the coast is still only 3 miles away, so we drove that morning to a surfer community called Bolinas that was alot cooler.

I very much hope to take you all to these places at some point. Even more so, I am curious about the happenings in your lifes. Post some stuff; if you need help, give me a call.

PS. I need Sarah's email!!!!!!

First Time Blogger

Hi Garveys!

Big thanks to John who got this blog going. Despite spending most of my waking hours on computers, this is the first time I've ever posted on a blog or website of any sort. I'm inpsired to start a California Ansley family one as well. I too will figure out how to post photos and other stuff as the weeks go by...

Life is going really well for Jeff, Sylvie and I right now. We basically are working crazy hours and hanging out with Sylvie in our free time, but somehow that feels just fine for now. She is almost two and really fun to hang out with. We are crazy with excitement to meet the newest Garvey when he/she arrives soon. Of course, we are also excited to add to our family in June with a baby brother for Sylvie.

I look forward to seeing what the rest of you post to the Garvey blog.

Much Love, Jolie-Anne

The first installment

Johnny Garvey in a nutshell

This is an experiment. I repeat this is an experiment to see whether technology can really bring people together. It is also an attempt by your distant brother to learn more about his family so that he can ask better questions on the phone. Who knows? It could be fun to take photos, think about the wonders of our lives, and share. I know that my life is richer knowing you all.

As you can see, I am hiding in bed and am uncertain whether I will get out or not. There are a couple of reasons why I should:

One, my wife is really pregnant and she may want help raising the latest Garvey. What do you all think about the names 'Lily' for girl and 'Robert' for a boy? Not related but exciting, who is going to help me change diapers when they visit? I hear that Baby poo is not so bad. Anna has been growing (in many ways) and I know that I am getting antsy to meet this little person. We have converted one of our rooms into a nursury; of course, this meant we had to clean-up/ throw away our junk. Somewhere in this cleaning, I realized that I was getting old. Lucy, I still remember what it felt like to be your age!

Second (not if you ask him), the cat has certain demands: food, water, attention, food... Eze the cat has been number one around this house for awhile. He probably wont be happy about the baby thing. He has been sleeping on the baby stuff already, so maybe there is a good side. As you can see in the picture, he has trouble studying too. This may be proof that work is unhealthy.

Third, California is a wonderous place. In total, it rains about one month a year. The rest of the time, sunshine. The ocean is at our doorsteps and the mountains are in the backyard. Most recently and much to my legs chagrin, I have taken to road biking. Ahh...the things we do for fun.
On the flipside of fun, I am hoping to finally graduate from school and become full-time employed. I never thought it would be so hard to find someone to work for. Usually I am trying to get out of work, now I can't get into work! But, 20th grade is not much different than 10th. School though is a pretty sweet deal--read books, thinks about stuff, write your ideas.

Well this is a general description of my life as it is this fine day in February. My next posting, I will learn how to add photographs and amongst those pictures will be baby snapshots. I look forward to reading your posts.

Love you all and can't wait to see your postings. Call or email if you need some help getting started.
